LA8 - Education, training, counseling, prevention, and risk-control programs in place to assist workforce members, their families, or community members regarding serious diseases.

AEP currently offers the following wellness type services/programs:

Preventive Care Benefits

  • Anthem Lumenos and Aetna Medical - preventive care covered 100%
  • MetLife Dental - preventive care covered at 100%

Employee Assistance Plan offered through Magellan

  • All employees and eligible dependents have access to benefit whether or not they participate in an AEP medical plan
  • Confidential counseling, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year
  • Up to six free visits per issue per year

Fitness Subsidy

  • 50% off the cost of an individual or family membership at a wellness facility, up to $150 annually
  • 50% of the cost of a health/exercise program, up to $20 per program (usually 10 weeks), and/or 50% of the cost of weight management program, up to $20 per program (usually 10 weeks); combined max $60 annually
  • 50% of the cost of physical fitness tests, up to $35 per test; max one test annually

Corporate Wellness Program

  • Third party vendor managed program - HealthFitness
  • Health Fair screenings (Flu vaccine, Cholesterol, Blood Pressure, BMI Measurement, Prostate, Osteoporosis, Mammograms) offered free of charge to employees and dependents at some locations, coordinated by third party vendor
  • Incentives for employee & spouse/domestic partner for completing incentive criteria (attend health screening, complete health assessment, complete a health improvement program)
  • Telephonic health coaching offered through wellness vendor
