EN28 - Monetary value of significant fines and total number of non-monetary sanctions for non-compliance with environmental laws and regulations.

AEP was the subject of two formal environmental enforcement actions in 2011. The first was the result of a 2010 routine inspection at the John Amos Plant in West Virginia that revealed improperly marked containers of used oil, fluorescent light bulbs, and related materials, as well as other violations. AEP settled on a fine of $53,654 in June 2011.

A second action was the failure to report a small gas leak at the Lieberman Plant in a timely manner. This matter remains unresolved.
